Ally Bank

I’ve had a high-yield savings account with Ally Bank since March 2019 and switched to them for checking in January 2020. Ally is unique in the fact that they are a completely online bank. That essentially means 3 things: there are no physical branch locations, you can’t directly deposit physical cash, but there are no fees or minimum balances.

Before switching, I was a PNC Bank customer. They’re a solid bank, but I did not like the fees and some of their online systems. I never stepped foot into a branch, so that was not an issue for me. I do sometimes, however, have to deposit cash, so that was a hangup for a short while. (I solved that by getting a fee-free WesBanco account). Personally, I love Ally Bank.
