A Right Way To Start A Business

Description

This is a guide I developed to help you start a business. My recommendations will prioritize saving money and doing many of the things yourself. Each lesson is an actionable step that you can cross off on your journey.

Themes

Separation

Your life will be much more organized if you prioritize having separate channels for personal and business (finances, communication, social media, etc.). This is a general outline and is not a comprehensive checklist for every single type of business.

Consistency

Everything you do in your business from a structural/marketing perspective should have a level of consistency to it.
Logos, addresses, phone numbers, emails should all be similar across the board.
You’re going to be visible on many platforms (Your website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) People should be able to look you up easily and know it’s you. Do this to the best of your ability. Here is a nice site to check if usernames are available: https://namechk.com/.
Example: I have “markjszymanski” as my username on every social media platform. That’s potentially overkill for some, but the point is try to be as consistent as possible. Branding is absolutely key.

Before You Begin

  1. This course is called “A Right Way To Start A Business” because it’s absolutely not The only way. I strongly encourage you to do supplemental research and never listen to just one person.
  2. Some of the links to services I use are affiliate links. In short, if you sign up for a service via one of those links, I will make a small commission. It’s never expected but always appreciated. Thank you!
  3. I am not a certified financial, business, or legal adviser. I’m just a guy that likes to share what I’ve learned because I know it can help some people. I assure you that this information is shared in good faith. I cannot be held liable for any negative results you may encounter.
